Primary Children learn about sexuality not only from their parents but from other various venues including - school and church communities with whom they associate; interactions with other family members, playmates in and out of school, sporting, communities and all these have an effect on the growing child’s learning . The media including music pop-stars, magazines, movies, T.V. and internet can seduce young people with the glamour of instant sexual gratification, without thought for the emotional trauma that could result from such premature, risky, irresponsible behaviour. Parents may feel that their teens have rejected their values in favour of the ‘pop-culture’. Young people, however on the whole, do admire and respect what their parents believe in and often rely on that security during turbulent times (sometimes unknown to parents).
